Pokhara, located in the northwestern corner of the Pokhara Valley, experiences rapid elevation gain from 1,000 to 7,500 meters within a 30-kilometer span. This results in one of the highest precipitation rates in the country, ranging from 3,350 mm/year in the valley to 5,600 mm/year in Lumle. The Seti Gandaki River has carved numerous gorges and canyons, creating long terrace features and deep gorges, with the Seti Gorge running through the city from north to south and then from west to east.
